Position Responsibilities

Our Software Development team is seeking an accomplished and creative Developer. The work involves Java programming in a Windows NT/2000 environment. SunGard Energy’s software systems run on Windows and UNIX platforms over various networks. This person will be building new and enhancing current Java and J2EE applications.
Role
The Developer is responsible for developing Gas Transaction Management (GTM-Marketer) and/or the customer funded SunGard’s Gas Transaction Management – Pipe application (GTM - Pipe) and will work closely with US and India based Development, QA, Customer Support, Product Management and other associated groups.
Responsibilities
· Troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
· Provide guidelines to other developers, perform code reviews and collaborate with developers in other offices.
· Participate in design and development of new functionalities in the product.
· Work to develop a thorough understanding of the underlying business processes that customers use.
· Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation.
· Estimate time required for proposed coding.
· Provide assistance and support to team members and other department and company staff in a professional and harmonious manner.
· Perform other duties assigned.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree and/or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics
· 4+ years programming
· 2+ years Java/J2EE development (EJB, JSP, Servlets)
· Experience in Java Swing, Oracle
· Knowledge of ADF/BC4J is a plus
· Strong analytical and communication skills
· Experience with energy trading or financial system is preferred
· AJAX is a plus
GTM/ETM is a plus
